Digital India – A Step to Make India Better

Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has launched the Digital India Campaign, which is another milestone towards Make in India campaign. The Digital India campaign will help to make India better. It is a dream project of Indian government and it is said that it will also generate millions of jobs and will make Indian IT companies more strong and productive.

Mr.Modi launched the Digital India week on Wednesday and encourage people to gain knowledge and to empower themselves and urging people to participate in Digital India campaign. The vision to launch Digital India is centered on three main areas:

1. Digital Infrastructure
2. Governance & Services on demand
3. Digital empowerment of citizens

The main objects, to launch Digital India campaign, are universal access to mobile connectivity, provide broadband highways, public internet access programme, eKranti – Electronic delivery of services, Information for all, Electronics manufacturing: Target net zero imports, Reforming government through technology and IT for jobs and early harvest programme.

There are following objects which will be run by the Indian government under Digital India Campaign:

Digital Locker System: The object is to launch Digital Locker System is to minimize the use of physical documents and to reduce the use of paper, which indirectly indicates to save trees and enable people to share e-documents across different departments.

Swachh Bharat Mission: Indian government developed a mobile app named Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) to achieve the goals of Swachh Bharat Mission fast and transparently.

National Scholarship Portal: This portal is for students, which will provide end-to-end solutions and process of scholarship, which contains application, verification, sanction and disbursal of the scholarship. It will be applicable for all scholarships provided by Government of India.

Online Registration System: The ORS system will introduce the concept of eHospital. People can easily do online registration, pay doctor’s fees, book appointment, online diagnostic reports and blood availability status online.

So, these are the main highlights of Digital India campaign. Apart from these, several other activities will be run by Indian Government under Digital India campaign like Electronics Development Fund (EDF) policy, National Center for Flexible Electronics (NCFlexE), Center of Excellence on Internet on Things (IoT), open BPO centers, improve Wi-Fi hotspots technology and many more. So, India is ready to become Digital India completely.
